Man killed in Monroe County crash identified
11/1/2012MONROE -- The man killed in a single-vehicle crash in Monroe County's Berlin Township almost a week ago has been identified as Andrew Elmore, 18.
The teen, from Newport, Mich., died Friday when the northbound vehicle he was driving on Bomeia Road, approaching Newport Road, went off the left side of the roadway into a cornfield and traveled several hundred feet before hitting a tree and catching fire, officials from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office reported.
The crash, which was reported at 2:53 p.m. last Friday, is still under investigation, deputies said.
