Fire officials investigate 4 blazes in city over weekend

Toledo fire investigators continue to probe four weekend fires that broke out across the city.

A fire that broke out in a vacant house at 1240 Prospect Ave. at 4:01 a.m. Sunday has been ruled an arson, said Toledo fire Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld. No injuries were reported

The first of the four fires was reported Saturday at 11:28 p.m. at 3575 Stickney Ave. in North Toledo. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $12,500.

Another fire was reported at 9:18 p.m. Saturday at 1126 Avondale Ave. A firefighter was treated at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center for a minor injury, Lieutenant Hertzfeld said. The fire, which caused an estimated $17,000 in damage, is under investigation.

Firefighters were dispatched Sunday at 12:09 a.m. to 1410 Pinewood Ave., where a vacant house was burning. No injuries were reported; damage was estimated at $11,000.
