A Toledo man who was kicked out of a South Toledo strip club Sunday night was hospitalized after being knocked unconscious during a fight with a security guard.

John Maziarz, 43, was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio, where he was scheduled to have surgery for swelling of the brain, according to a Toledo police incident report.

A hospital spokesman on Monday said there was no patient there by that name.

An officer reported that Mr. Maziarz was asked to leave Hush Showgirls, 532 S. Reynolds Rd., at about 10:45 p.m. Sunday for “harassing the female employees for money/drugs,” the report states.

Outside the club, Mr. Maziarz allegedly punched the bouncer, Ronald Austin, 22, several times in the face and head before Mr. Austin punched Mr. Maziarz once in the chin, causing him to fall backward and hit his head on the concrete, police reported.

No charges have been filed.
