Gas station clerk assaulted, robbed in Frenchtown Township
12/11/2012MONROE -- A man assaulted and robbed a clerk at a gas station in Frenchtown Township today, authorities said.
The victim's name and condition weren't released.
The man entered the Shell station at 1488 N. Dixie Hwy. about 1 a.m., walked around the cash counter, and assaulted the night clerk with a baseball bat, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
The assailant then demanded money from the clerk. After the clerk complied, the assailant fled with an undetermined amount of cash, sheriff deputies said..
There was no good description of the robber. He was wearing sweat pants and a dark hooded jacket.
