No injuries after fire destroys mobile home in South Toledo

Two people were left homeless by a mobile home fire near Hill Avenue and South Byrne Road in South Toledo today, authorities said.

There were no reports of injuries, according to the Toledo Fire Department.

The fire at Lot 109 of the Byrnehill Mobile Home Community, 3601 Hill, was reported at 4:24 p.m., according to the fire department. Fire crews brought the blaze under control by 4:56 p.m., but not before the home was destroyed, a fire dispatcher said.

As of about 7 p.m., fire crews remained at the scene, razing what was left of the mobile home, the dispatcher said.

The American Red Cross Greater Toledo Area Chapter assisted the victims. The fire's cause remained under investigation, and no damage estimate was immediately available.
