More than 200 people were arrested in East Toledo during a police target enforcement operation that went round the clock from March 15 through Saturday, authorities said.

Toledo police said the arrests were made within an enforcement area that was bounded by Elgin Avenue, and Front, White, Nevada, and Oak streets. The area was chosen because of a high number of burglaries and robberies when compared to other parts of the city, police said.

Police said the arrests were for a variety of misdemeanor and felony charges.

During that time, the city of Toledo cleaned the targeted area and identified buildings for demolition, police said.
