A charge of murder was dismissed on Monday against a former Oregon man charged in the death of his father.

At the request of prosecutors, Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Stacy Cook dismissed the charge against Jacob Kutsch, 21, of 1082 Valley Grove Dr., Maumee.

Mr. Kutsch was then arraigned on a less serious charge of involuntary manslaughter for the Nov. 3 death of John Kutsch, 58, who was found unconscious in his Earlwood Avenue home after an apparent struggle. That charge alleges the death was the result of a misdemeanor assault offense.
