A man arrested Friday in connection with an October murder escaped today from St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, but was quickly recaptured, a police source said.

Jonathon Johnson, 23, had been taken to the hospital from the Lucas County jail after complaining of illness. He fled the hospital about 1 p.m., but was found and re-arrested by 1:10 p.m., the source said.

A murder charge accusing Mr. Johnson of the Oct. 5 fatal shooting of Jonathan Morris, Jr., 22, had been filed Thursday in Toledo Municipal Court.

Mr. Johnson, of 1659 Belmont Ave., fled his mother's house in the 800 block of Dorr Street when U.S. Marshals went there to arrest him by jumping from a second-floor window. After an extended search, he was found hiding in a doghouse in the 800 block of Johnson Street, near Belmont.

Two other men also are accused in Mr. Morris' death.
