MARION, Ind. — A Findlay man was killed Friday in a crash on I-69 near this Grant County community, authorities said.

Alan Stephan, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Indiana State Police. The victim was wearing seat belts, police said.

Mr. Stephan was driving north on I-69 about 2:30 p.m. when for unknown reasons he struck the rear of a tractor-trailer rig driven by Raad Odesho, 33, of Sterling Heights, Mich., the state police said. The semi was slowing down for a traffic congestion caused by a lane restriction in a work zone, with the semi's hazard lights reportedly activated, police said.

Mr Odesho, who also was wearing seat belts, was not injured, according to police.

The crash remains under investigation.

Marion is about 130 miles southwest of Toledo.
