Both vehicles were northbound on I-75 when Mr. Napier's vehicle struck the car driven by Alyssa R. Mr. Napier, who was wearing his seat belt, was trapped in the vehicle for an extended period of time. Perrysburg Township EMS transported Mr. Napier to Mercy St. Vincent Hospital with serious injuries that were not life threatening. Ms. Trass and Ms. Stevens were both wearing their seat belts. Ms. Trass was not injured. Ms. Stevens was not seriously injured, and Middleton Township EMS transported her to St. Luke’s Hospital.
Mr. Napier was cited for failing to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.
One lane of Interstate 75 was closed for one hour, but both northbound lanes have since been re-opened.
