Two people were taken to the hospital today after a two-car crash on northbound I-75 in Perrrysburg Township.

The Bowling Green Patrol Post is currently investigating the crash that occurred today at 3:40 a.m. near milepost 189.

Kyle A. Napier, 26, of Oregon remains in serious condition at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital. Finesse Stevens, 19, of Cleveland was taken to St. Luke's Hospital with minor injuries, according to police.

Both vehicles were northbound on I-75 when Mr. Napier's vehicle struck the car driven by Alyssa R. Trass, 19, of Dayton, which was traveling at a slow speed due to mechanic difficulties, according to police. Mr. Napier's vehicle went off the left side of the road and overturned in the median. Ms. Trass' vehicle went off the right side of the road into the ditch. Ms. Stevens was a passenger in Ms. Trass' vehicle.

Mr. Napier, who was wearing his seat belt, was trapped in the vehicle for an extended period of time. Perrysburg Township EMS transported Mr. Napier to Mercy St. Vincent Hospital with serious injuries that were not life threatening. Ms. Trass and Ms. Stevens were both wearing their seat belts. Ms. Trass was not injured. Ms. Stevens was not seriously injured, and Middleton Township EMS transported her to St. Luke’s Hospital.

Mr. Napier was cited for failing to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.

One lane of Interstate 75 was closed for one hour, but both northbound lanes have since been re-opened.
