Following the March 28 death of accused murderer Elhadi Robbins, Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Myron Duhart on Monday dismissed two counts of murder against him.

Robbins, 47, of Toledo was to have gone on trial Monday for the 2009 death of Cindy Sumner, 20, whose badly decomposed body was found in the basement of an abandoned North Toledo warehouse more than a month after she disappeared.

Robbins, who had a history of heart problems, collapsed in a shower at the Lucas County jail and was pronounced dead at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. The Lucas County Coroner’s Office has not yet determined the cause of death.

Only two days before his death, Robbins had been in Judge Duhart’s courtroom for a pretrial hearing.
