Man, 25, dies from accident near Dundee

DUNDEE, Mich — A Romulus, Mich., man died died late Saturday from injuries he suffered after he was ejected from a homemade sled and struck a tree on private property northeast of Dundee, Mich., in London Township, Monroe County authorities said today.

Robert L. Tackett, 25, was riding a homemade sled behind a pickup truck driven by Roy W. Leffler, 27, of Romulus, in the 11,000 block of Tuttlehill Road when the accident occurred. Deputies said Mr. Tackett suffered multiple injuries. The time of the accident and details of the accident were not available.

Mr. Tackett was taken to taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Mercy Health System in Ann Arbor, where he died at 10:10 p.m. from his injuries, sheriff's deputies said.

An autopsy was planned by the Washtenaw County Medical Examiner's Office.
