Oregon woman killed, Genoa man injured in 2-car crash

WALBRIDGE — An Oregon woman was killed and a Genoa man was injured in a two-car crash today on Woodville Road in Wood County's Lake Township.

Troopers at the Bowling Green post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said Evelyn Moore, 81, of Oregon pulled out at 2:55 p.m. from a driveway on the south side of Woodville, west of Pemberville Road, and into the path of an eastbound car driven by David Baker, 71, of Genoa. Ms. Moore's car was struck in the driver's side. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr. Baker was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. His condition was not available Friday night. The three passengers in Mr. Baker's car were not injured, troopers said.

Everyone in both cars wore a seat belt.

The crash is under investigation. Alcohol use was not believed to be a factor.
