Law enforcement agencies from northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan arrested 17 people suspected of driving while intoxicated or impaired as part of the latest Circle Toledo enforcement effort, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

During the 12 hours that ended at 6 a.m. Saturday, authorities stopped 464 vehicles and issued 141 citations, including 66 for speeding and 14 for violating seat-belt laws.

Taking part were agencies from Fulton, Lucas, and Wood counties in Ohio, Michigan State Police, and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The program looks to raise public awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving, and to remove impaired drivers from behind the wheel.
