2 arrested at Findlay checkpoint

FINDLAY — Two drivers were arrested for driving while impaired during a checkpoint Friday night on Tiffin Avenue, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

One of the drivers was alleged to have been driving under the influence of marijuana and was charged additionally with drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrests occurred during a four-hour checkpoint operated by state troopers, Findlay police, and Hancock County sheriff's deputies.

Of 1,019 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint, 858 were inspected, with the stops taking an average of 14 seconds. Five drivers were diverted for further investigation, including the two who were arrested.
