DEFIANCE – Three men are being held in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio on various charges connected to a drug-trafficking operation.

The Multi Area Narcotics Task Force arrested the three after a months-long investigation involving Michigan medical marijuana and heroin trafficking in Defiance and Williams counties.

Charged are Brian Mullins, 28, of Wayne County, Mich.; Michael Hetz, 29, of 2441 Steamburg Rd., Hillsdale, Mich.; and Jerod Dockery, 28, of 1728 Durango Dr., Defiance.

Mr. Mullins and Mr. Hetz are each charged with possession of heroin and a parole violation out of Wayne County. Mr. Dockery is being held on a parole violation.

All three men are to be arraigned today via video in Defiance Municipal Court.

Officials from the Defiance County Sheriff's Office said the investigation spanned a five-month period. In that time, 10 to 15 pounds of medical marijuana were trafficked into Northwest Ohio each month.
