Teen held on $5M bond in carryout owner death

A Toledo teen charged with aggravated murder was arraigned Wednesday in Maumee Municipal Court.

James Allen, 18, of 1732 E. Westland Gardens Rd. was ordered held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $5 million.

He is accused in the shooting death of carryout owner James Safadi, who was killed in his Waterville Township home, 8940 S. River Rd., on May 18.

Also held in lieu of $5 million bond on a charge of aggravated murder is Ronald Rooker, Jr., 32, who is Mr. Safadi’s neighbor.

Police anticipate more arrests in the case.
