IDA, Mich. - Two men were critically injured today in a two-vehicle collision on southbound US-23, about one mile south of Summerfield Road in Monroe County, officials reported.

Seth Winter, 23, of Toledo, and David Dickson, 65 of Youngsville, Pa., were both critically injured in the crash, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said.

Timothy Kreps, 66, of Toledo was driving a 2008 Honda Odyssey mini-van southbound on US-23 in the right lane at about 2:50 p.m., when he was rear-ended by a 1983 Ford Mustang passenger car, which was also traveling southbound on US-23 in the right lane, deputies said. Mr. Winter was the driver of the Mustang.

The mini-van was stopped in the right lane, because of a construction zone, authorities said.

All three men were transported to Toledo Hospital. Mr. Winter and Mr. Dickson were listed in critical condition late Friday, a hospital spokesman said. Mr. Kreps was treated and released.

According to the sheriff's office, Mr. Winters was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and Mr. Kreps and Mr. Dickson were wearing seat belts.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, authorities said.
