A Toledo man was arrested after leading authorities on a 19-mile chase in a stolen vehicle Friday evening, authorities said.

The Ohio Highway Patrol charged Duane Curtis, Jr., 33, with operating under suspension, fleeing in a motor vehicle, and receiving stolen property.

Troopers attempted to stop Mr. Curtis for speeding on King Road at Central Avenue in Sylvania Township at about 7:41 p.m., but the driver sped off eastbound on Central toward I-475, which he entered and traveled northbound and then eastbound.

After passing through the I-475 construction zone in West Toledo at high speed, he headed north on I-75 and then south on I-280 through North Toledo and Oregon before stopping at the Woodville Road exit in Northwood and fleeing on foot, troopers said.

The man was caught later at his home and was being held at the Lucas County jail. Toledo police said the vehicle, a black Honda Civic, had been stolen. The report did not explain how the driver was identified.
