University of Toledo police arrested four drunken drivers through today during a sobriety checkpoint near the university.
The checkpoint, which was held from 9 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. today on Dorr Street at Towerview South in West Toledo, also netted 10 arrests for outstanding misdemeanor warrants, three arrests for other non-traffic offenses, and included 12 citations for driving under suspension, authorities said.
Of the three non-traffic-related arrests, one was for having a firearm.
Nineteen officers participated from UT, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Lucas County sheriff's office, Sylvania Township police, Ottawa Hills police, along with three volunteers.
A total of 765 vehicles were stopped during the checkpoint and 60 were diverted.
