A Michigan man is dead after a two-vehicle crash along northbound I-75 caused him to be ejected from his vehicle Saturday, authorities said.
Austin Ashby, 21, of Marion was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:36 p.m.
The driver of the other vehicle, Clifford Harris, 27, of Toledo was not injured.
The crash, reported at 1:05 p.m., occurred near the South Avenue exit when Mr. Ashby lost control of his pickup and collided with the car Mr. Harris was driving, officials said.
Officials said Mr. Ashby was traveling north in the far left lane of I-75 when he lost control.
After impact, Mr. Ashby’s vehicle went off the east side of the expressway, struck a metal sign, then flipped over numerous times.
Mr. Ashby, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from his vehicle.
