Motorcyclist injured when struck by vehicle

DELTA, Ohio — A motorcyclist from Delta, Ohio, was seriously injured Sunday when he was struck by a car that attempted to pass him while the motorcycle was turning into a driveway, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said the motorcyclist, David Roe, 42, was thrown off his bike when an eastbound car on Fulton County Road M struck the left rear of his cycle while trying to pass him.

The accident, reported at 3:33 p.m., occurred near the intersection of County Road 7 in Fulton Township.

The car was driven by Trenton Shindorf, 19, of Delta.

Mr. Roe, who was not wearing a helmet, and was flown to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo with what troopers said were life-threatening injuries. His condition was not available, the hospital said.

Mr. Shindorf was not injured.
