A Toledo man who was stabbed in his abdomen and arm on the city’s east side was released from the hospital Wednesday, police said.

Antonio Williams, 31, had been taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment.

Police were called to the unit block of Birmingham Terrace at 12:56 a.m. Wednesday for the incident, which reportedly happened sometime after 10:40 p.m. Tuesday. A man listed on a police report as a suspect told police he was “minding his own business,” when the victim allegedly punched the suspect in the back of the head.

The suspect allegedly fell and “was defending himself” when he used a pocket knife to cut the victim, according to a report.

The man listed as a suspect has not been charged.
