Armed assailants invade Monroe County home

MONROE - Monroe County sheriff's deputies are seeking five men between the ages of 16 and 25 who allegedly assaulted four teenage boys during a home Invasion in the 3200 block on N. Dixie Hwy.

One of the attackers was carrying a shotgun, according to a press release from the sheriff's office. The victims, ages 15 to 17, were inside a garage at the home when five assailants arrived in a dark-colored pickup around 2:30 a.m. Saturday. The intruders forced their way into the garage and began to fight with the victims. 

During the fight, the homeowner and father of one of the victims, entered the garage to intervene. He also was assaulted.

After a few minutes the suspects left the garage, and the victims fled into the house. The

suspects returned to the home, gained entry, and rekindled the assault.

The suspects fled in the dark-colored pickup. The alleged assailants were identified by the victims. No arrests have

been made.

The injuries suffered by the victims were minor. None of the victims required medical attention. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 734-240-7700.
