Toledoan, 22, found shot on Broadway

An early morning shooting left one man wounded in East Toledo on Friday.

Shot in the lower abdomen was Robert Douglas, 22, of Toledo who police reported finding lying on a sidewalk next to Roby’s Night Club, 600 East Broadway, at 1:50 a.m.

The victim was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where a spokesman later had no information about his condition.

As police converged on the area, authorities broadcast a description of a Ford Expedition seen fleeing.

The SUV had a distinctive grille construction with the appearance of shark’s teeth.

The vehicle was last seen near Nevada and Berry streets, police said.

Police said they found no shell casings at the scene.

The suspect, whose identity was not known, was described by the victim as black, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, 140 pounds, and was wearing a black T-shirt and red cargo shorts.
