The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for a broad area south and southeast of Toledo because of continuing heavy rain Monday evening.
The warning area includes southwestern Wood and southwestern Seneca counties, all of Wyandot and Hancock counties, and most of Crawford County. Forecasters in Cleveland said the continuing rain could cause water to rise rapidly overnight.
Motorists were urged to avoid driving through flooded areas. Vehicles swept away by rising water are a leading cause of flood-related death.
