Maumee police to hold citizen academy in Sept.

The Maumee Police Division is hosting a police academy for citizens this fall. The academy classes, which will take place from Sept. 17-Nov. 5, will teach citizens about crime prevention and detection. Sessions will take place on Tuesdays from 6-10 p.m. at the Maumee Police Building, 109 E. Dudley St. The fee for attending is $35 per person.

The academy will give community members an overview of police work and procedures. All instructors will be members of the Maumee Police Division. Other course topics include constitutional law, use of force, entry teams, mock scenarios, firearms, and traffic crash investigations.
