South Toledo crash seriously injures one

One person appeared to be seriously injured in a crash late today in South Toledo that involved as many as two passenger vehicles and a truck, authorities said.

The crash was reported about 8 p.m. on Hawley Street near Brewster Street. A person whom Toledo firefighters freed from one of the vehicles was taken by Life Squad to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.

A related crash scene was reported at Hawley and Western Avenue. A person was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The crash closed Hawley for a time. 

Toledo police are investigating.
