A Toledo slaying suspect who spent months on the run was arrested in Indianapolis on Thursday, officials said.

Patrick Harris, 40, was arrested by officers from the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Region Task Force and the Indianapolis Police Department at about 1:30 p.m.

He was held later in the Marion County jail pending extradition.

It is not clear why Mr. Harris, a Toledo resident, was in Indiana, Toledo police Sgt. Joe Heffernan said.

Mr. Harris is accused of fatally shooting Ramon Dorsey, 22, on May 12 in North Toledo.

The victim, who was shot in the head, was found slumped behind the wheel of a black sports utility vehicle in an alley behind the 2800 block of North Summit Street.

He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
