A Toledo man accused of breaking into six West Toledo homes in April and May was in the Lucas County jail Thursday night after being arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court on six counts of burglary of an occupied structure.

Bond was set at $120,000 for Julian Torrez, 23, of 1030 Country View Lane, who court records say was identified by at least one victim as the burglar and was found to be in possession of property stolen from one or more of the homes.

The case was continued to today to allow Mr. Torrez time to obtain a lawyer.

The break-ins for which Mr. Torrez is accused began April 2 at a home in the 4100 block of Carthage Road, during which the front door was kicked in and several items were stolen.

The other alleged break-ins occurred April 15 in the 900 block of Sibley Road; April 23 in the 5800 block of Clover Lane; April 30 in the 1100 block of Hawk Street; May 9 in the 600 block of West Gramercy Avenue, and May 24 in the 2000 block of Burr Oaks Drive.

In the sixth, the only one in which Mr. Torrez is believed to have acted alone, a resident observed the suspect trying to enter the residence.
