Doughnut-eating contest to mark Whitehouse police’s 50th year

The Whitehouse Police Department will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in Whitehouse Park.

The activities will include a doughnut-eating contest at 11 in the Farmer’s Market at the Wabash Cannonball Trail and Providence Street. There also will be a traffic radar-​laser demonstration, a police cruiser on display, and cake provided by the Cherry Tree Bakery.

Whitehouse Village Council established the department on July 23, 1963.
