DELTA, Ohio -- Authorities today identified the 15-year-old boy shot Sunday in Fulton County’s Swancreek Township as Logan Sherman.

The boy, allegedly shot in the arm and back area, is expected to recover, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office said the boy was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, but the hospital had no patient listed by his name today.

Authorities on Sunday took into custody his mother Candis J. Sherman, 57, who remains lodged at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, near Stryker. She is charged with attempted murder.

Sheriff Roy Miller said the prosecutor is reviewing the case and is expected to make a determination on charges by Tuesday. Sheriff Miller did not provide information on the shooting circumstances, saying only that it’s “a little early to discuss that.”

Deputies were dispatched just after 9:30 a.m. Sunday to the Sherman residence, 1263 State Rt. 109, Swancreek Township, on a shooting call. They found the boy had been shot and recovered a revolver. The incident remains under investigation.
