One person injured in 2-vehicle crash near Maumee

A person was injured today in a two-vehicle crash that briefly closed northbound I-475 between U.S. 24 and Salisbury Road - Dussel Drive, affecting traffic in Maumee and Monclova Township, the Ohio Highway patrol said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to an area hospital, according to the patrol's Bowling Green post.

The crash occurred about 12:55 p.m. when a vehicle that was northbound on I-475 struck a parked vehicle, with one of the vehicles catching fire, according to the patrol.

The crash closed the northbound lanes of the expressway for about 40 minutes, troopers said. One northbound lane opened about 1:40 p.m., according to the patrol.
