Port Clinton man hit, killed while bicycling
7/17/2013PORT CLINTON — A 37-year-old Port Clinton man was killed Tuesday when the bicycle he was riding was struck by a car on Wilcox Road near this Ottawa County community, the Ohio Highway Patrol reported.
Dale Tusen was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash Tuesday in Bay Township, according to the patrol's Sandusky post. He wore a helmet, according to the patrol.
Troopers said Mr. Tusen was westbound on Wilcox about 5:55 a.m. when his bicycle was struck in the rear by a car driven by Michael Swint, 68, of Fort Jennings, Ohio, who also was westbound on the road.
The crash remained under investigation, with no citations issued yet, troopers said.
Port Clinton, the seat of Ottawa County, is about 40 miles east of Toledo.
