An East Toledo man was shot several times in the legs and a foot Tuesday night while bicycling in his neighborhood, city police said.
Steven Brown, 23, of Yondota Street, was admitted to Mercy St. Charles Hospital with multiple wounds after being shot in the 900 block of Willow Avenue, police said. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name; police said the wounds did not appear life-threatening.
Officers responding to a person-shot report arrived about 10:45 p.m. and found Mr. Brown lying on a sidewalk at Willow and Earl Street, wounded but conscious and alert. He told police he was riding on Willow toward Earl when a masked man emerged from between two houses and fired at him.
The victim then dropped the bicycle and ran toward Earl, where he collapsed, according to the report. He told police he did not recognize the shooter.
