Fire did heavy damage to a duplex in the 500 block of 4th Street early today on the city's east side.
Battalion Fire Chief James Price said it appeared the fire was started on an exterior wall at 511 4th St. and worked its way into the attic. The alarm was turned in at 1:40 a.m. Crews were released from the scene at 3:21 a.m.
Chief Price summoned a fire investigator to examine circumstances leading up to the cause of the blaze. He added the building has not had renters in four months.41.64575 -83.52126
