FOSTORIA — A Perrysburg man was sought Sunday following a shooting in Fostoria that left a woman dead and her daughter injured, Fostoria authorities said.

Neither victim was identified, but authorities said the surviving victim had a protection order against the suspect identified as Calvin Dixson, 37.

Fostoria police said Mr. Dixson had ties to Cleveland as well as Perrysburg.

The shooting occurred at 1:30 p.m. on Bannister Street in the southwest section of Fostoria.

The surviving gunshot victim was flown to a Toledo hospital, authorities said.

The hospital was not identified.

Police said Mr. Dixson fled the shooting scene in an older model green or gray-colored Dodge pickup truck.

Fostoria residents were urged to be watchful and to contact police if he was seen.

Police did not issue a lockdown for the city.

However, an employee of Independence House, a nursing home on Independence Avenue, said the facility was on a brief lockdown while police searched for the gunman.

Fostoria, which straddles Hancock, Seneca, and Wood counties, is 35 miles southeast of Toledo.
