NORWALK, Ohio — A Norwalk woman injured when her vehicle hit a guard rail on the Ohio Turnpike near the U.S. 250 exit near Sandusky died from her injuries Saturday evening.

Troopers said Kimala K. Lowry, 53, was pronounced dead at Fisher Titus Medical Center in Norwalk. Her passenger, Scott J. Dunn, 48, Norwalk, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Troopers said Ms. Lowry was eastbound on the turnpike around 7 p.m. when she lost control of her car and went off the right side of the road, striking a guardrail before going down an embankment. Both were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
