The inside of the Wendy’s on West Laskey Road was damaged when Joseph Lisowski lost control of his Jeep and crashed through a brick wall. Two employees and Lisowski were injured.

Police said the man who crashed into the drive-thru window of a West Toledo fast-food restaurant Thursday was intoxicated.

Joseph Lisowski, 59, of 6138 Benalex Dr., was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, failure to control a vehicle, not wearing a seat belt, and having an open container.

Witnesses told police that Mr. Lisowski was taking a curve at a Wendy's drive-thru, 1859 W. Laskey Rd., when the Jeep he was driving accelerated and crashed into the store, taking out a brick wall.

The crash was reported to police at 11:10 a.m.

Two employees, Michelle Moore, of Overland Parkway, and Tristana Hernandez, of West State Line Road, were taken to Toledo Hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not known.

Mr. Lisowski suffered "facial injuries" from his head hitting the windshield and was also taken to Toledo Hospital, where he refused a blood test, police said.

Mr. Lisowski reportedly told police he had been drinking but had only "two beers and some alcohol." Police reported finding two bottles of brandy — one open and with some of the contents missing — under the driver's seat.
