A Toledo man was arrested today after allegedly pointing a pellet rifle at firefighters.

William Rogers, Jr., 19, of 711 Dorr St., is charged with inducing panic. He is to be arraigned Monday.

Toledo firefighters were responding to a medical call at the Greenbelt Place Apartments at 11:40 a.m. when a fire private and a lieutenant reportedly saw Mr. Rogers looking through a scope, pointing what appeared to be a rifle at them, police said.

The firefighters ducked behind a fire vehicle and called for police.

Prior to police arrival, Mr. Rogers hid the gun, which turned out to be a pellet rifle, in the kitchen of 723 Walnut St. The gun was recovered and Mr. Rogers was arrested.

Also arrested were Victor Watson, Jr., 21, of 6072 Elden Dr., Sylvania; and Dana King, 23, of 1201 Collingwood Blvd. The two were arrested on warrants.
