Police have identified two men wounded in a mid-day shooting in Toledo's central city.

Taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center today with "minor" injuries were Lynn Williams, of Lincoln Avenue, and Christopher Mason, Sr., of Norwood Avenue, police said. Their ages were not released.

Witnesses told police that at 2:40 p.m., a man in a car driving in the 900 block of Oakwood Avenue, approaching Lawrence Avenue, opened fire on the victims who were walking down the street. One of the victims fell to the ground and the other ran to Lawrence and Lincoln.

Descriptions of the incident varied by witness, said police Sgt. Tim Noble.

The vehicle was described as gold, brown, and dark-colored, possibly a two-door, older-model Oldsmobile Alero. Witnesses reported hearing anywhere from two to 15 gunshots and said they saw two, three, or maybe four young men in the car.

Police have not yet identified a motive or any suspects.
