A fiber-optic cable problem was to blame for disrupting the 911 emergency-calling system in Lake Township on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
Starting at 1 .m., the Lake dispatch center could not receive 911 calls from land-line telephones. Township police said the problem was resolved by about 3:45 p.m.
