Police ID victim in North Toledo shooting

A Toledo teen was shot in his genitals Tuesday night, police said.

Kelly Bernard, 18, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment. A spokesman had no information about his condition.

The victim told police he and two others were walking along the 1700 block of Walnut Street, in North Toledo, when someone in the back of a small black vehicle fired several shots at about 10:45 p.m.

Neither of the other two men were wounded, although James Barker, 19, had a bullet hole in his left pant leg from a passing round, according to a police report.

No charges have been filed.
