Ottawa County Sheriff's Office announces checkpoint near Port Clinton

PORT CLINTON -- A sobriety checkpoint will be held in Ottawa County's Bay Township from 11 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday, authorities said.

There will also be an increased number of law enforcement agents looking for impaired drivers, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. The exact location of the checkpoint was not revealed.

Other law enforcement agencies participating include the Ohio Highway Patrol and area police departments.

Port Clinton, the seat of Ottawa County, is about 40 miles east of Toledo.
