Man critically injured in shooting in North Toledo

Bennie Johnson, 18, was shot in the head at approximately 4:50 a.m. today at 278 E. Pearl St., Toledo Police said.

Witnesses heard gun shots and found Mr. Johnson lying on the street wounded at that time. He was transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where he was listed in in critical condition, police said.

Investigators first found multiple bullet holes in a nearby car and a vacant home.

Details of what preceded the shooting are sketchy, and no one has been arrested yet.
