OVI checkpoint takes 2 drivers off Anthony Wayne Trail in Toledo

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with Toledo police, operated an OVI checkpoint Friday from 9 p.m.until 12 a.m. on the Anthony Wayne Trail.

Law enforcement officers at the scene in front of the Toledo Zoo interacted with 707 drivers. Eleven drivers were further evaluated for impairment. Two drivers were arrested for driving while impaired.

The Ohio Department of Transportation assisted with setting up the traffic zone. The Ohio Investigative Unit participated, making an arrest for a drug violation at a local carryout.
