PORT CLINTON — The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for its third Citizens’ Partnership Academy, which starts Sept. 18 and runs for 10 weeks.
Participants will be offered ride-alongs with deputies, will get a chance to visit various divisions and specialty units, and will take a tour of the sheriff’s facilities. Subjects to be covered include patrol operations, victims’ rights, and sex crimes.
Classes will be held every Wednesday at 6 p.m. and will last up to 2½ hours.
Applicants must pass criminal background checks and have valid Ohio driver’s licenses.
