Authorities have identified Elijah Coleman, 19, of Toledo as a man who was struck by a car and killed on I-75 near Collingwood Boulevard in central Toledo early today.
Mr. Coleman was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:32 a.m., according to Dr. Cynthia Beisser, a deputy coroner with the Lucas County coroner's office. Dr. Beisser said he had died of multiple injuries sustained in the crash.
The victim was lying in the far left lane of southbound I-75 near Collingwood Boulevard about 2:30 a.m. when he was struck by a car driven by Frederick Sawyer II, 26, of Inwood Drive, police said.
Mr. Sawyer was not injured, according to police.
The crash remained under investigation.
