3 prostitution stings in Wood County net 21 suspects

Three prostitution stings in different Wood County communities netted 21 arrests.

The most recent bust, on Monday in Rossford, landed seven people from Ohio, Michigan, New York, and Indiana behind bars.

Arrested were: Rodney Metzger, 55, of Monroe; Tarek Abou-Madkour, 43, and Peter Schaal, 41, both of Holland, Ohio; Shawn Allen, 37, of Toledo; Douglas Long, 68, of Clayton, Mich.; Otto Schug, 44, of Columbus, Ind.; and Ronald Stewart, 43, of Bryan.

The seven men were charged with solicitation prostitution, a third-degree misdemeanor. The cases are pending in Perrysburg Municipal Court.

A July 31 sting in Northwood yielded five arrests.

Charged with solicitation were Vincent Sample, 26, of Toledo; Ronak Patel, 27, of Elmhurst, N.Y.; Joseph Beehner, 19, of Maumee; Nathan Ball, 22, of Bellevue, Ohio; and Joshua Morrin, 24, of Whitehouse.

Their cases are pending in Northwood Municipal Court.

Arrested during a July 2 undercover investigation in Rossford were Jason Hartman, 37, of Findlay; Cannon Mallard, 23, of Southfield, Mich.; Randy Steedman, 47, of Rossford; Troy V. Smith, 51, of Sylvania; and Charles Martin, Jr., 54; Tasha R. Walker, 35, and Betty Slinker, 37, all of Toledo. The seven are charged with solicitation prostitution.

Also arrested in the July 2 sting were Chanice S. Burkes, 23, and Shirley Speelman, 31, both of Toledo. They are charged with complicity to solicitation prostitution.

The arrests were announced today by the Wood County Sheriff's Office, which worked with Rossford, Northwood, and Perrysburg Township police, and the Ohio Attorney General's Office. The "solicitation prostitution enforcement operations" were conducted at various hotels.
